Thumper. missing cat. Siamese-looking

My buddy, my pal!

7/2 NO POSSIBLE SIGHTINGS since last post... none Tuesday, Wednesday and today.

sigh. 8(

6/29 Monday 2:02 p.m.

WHERE: Large, unused parking lot located on the Northwest corner of 12th and Q Streets; afterwards, the cat walked to the burnt-out, abandoned house next to this parking lot (the house's entrance is on 12th Street; it is the most southward house in this row of 'town'houses.)

WITNESSES (2): A man and a young boy (12?) saw a cat that perfectly matched Thumper's description sitting in the middle of the parking lot (i think they said that the cat was looking south towards the next street, Q Street--I was actually standing on the other side of Q Street talking!!!).  The man and boy went into the lot and approached the cat, who slowly walked away over to the BACK PORCH of the burnt-out/abandoned house.  It sat at the porche's railings, looking at the 2 people.  As the man and boy approached the cat on the porch, then the cat turned around and jumped through the open, broken window (which has bars).  They called me. I rushed over immediately.  As they described the encounter, the boy, who had jumped onto the porch, exclaimed, "there he is again!" and pointed up to the open porch roof (which opens to the 2nd floor, btw).  But, by the time I also jumped onto the porch to look, the cat had disappeared again.  to verify that the cat they saw matched Thumper, i pulled out my missing-ad that had Thumper's pictures.  YES, they said, THAT IS the cat exactly!!! They had actually got word about thumper missing--and my contact info--just ONE hour before their encounter; they had already gone online to look at Thumper's pictures, on this site, btw).  Therefore, because they had gone online and familiarized themselves with Thumper's pictures, then THAT's how they knew that it was Thumper when they later saw a cat in the nearby parking lot!! Thank you, witnesses, for your fast thinking!

6/28 Sunday morning 1 a.m. ("Saturday night")

WHERE: Alley that parallels 12th and 11th Streets, and bordered by Q/northside and R Street/southside. The ENTRANCE to the alley on Q Street's northside (middle of block)--the cat possibly walked into the parking lot that sits next to this alley (lot on northeast corner of 12th/Q Street) and then disappeared into the burnt-out/abandoned house bordering this lot (the house entrance is on 12th street NW).

WITNESS: A man and 2 others were sitting on their door stoop in the set of rowhouses on Q Street/northside, between 12th and 11th Streets. They saw an unfamiliar cat that looked like Thumper, slowly walking along this Q Street alley entrance, walking in the direction of R Street (through the alley, heading north).  They say that they know all the area's alley cats, and this cat they saw was a new one to them.  If I understood the man correctly (he spoke broken English; I speak broken  Spanish), one of the men followed the cat, who jumped in between the fence bordering alley (and the huge parking lot located on the northeast corner of 12th/Q Street).  The man showed walked this fence area and walked to--and showed me--the broken window on the back porch connected to the burnt-out/abandoned house that borders this parking lot (the rowhouse's entrance is on 12th Street).

6/26 Friday: Eyewitness account in which a neighbor saw a woman carrying Thumper away

Neighbor eyewitness (who lives 4 doors from me) saw a lightskinned woman carrying Thumper away from the 12th/ Q intersection (NW, one block from Logan Circle). She was on the southside of Q Street, walking east--away from the 12th/Q intersection--and was just passing the alley that parallels 12th (behind our houses/apt building).  See the other website section for "Stolen? Eyewitness acct" for full details, in addition to info about a stolen dog, Molly, 4 days later, 6/29 Monday, which has it's own section called "Stolen-dog/connection?").
